Introducing green peas to your meal is a very healthy and nutritious decision. It is a delicious food that can be used as cooking ingredient to enrich meals too. Pea seeds consist of proteins, minerals, carbohydrates and fiber just like its other legume family members. Many types of pea plants are grown throughout the world. There are loads of uses of green peas in the kitchen. It is used as a vegetable or in soup, canned, frozen or dehydrated.
Green peas are also used as filling foods for weight loss. They improve the immune system of the body as they are high in copper, calcium, Iron, zinc etc. To make it even more interesting, they were widely used in Roman cookery as well!

NOODLES WITH PEAS
Ingredients
3 cups peas, fresh or frozen
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
4 slices bacon, diced
1 small yellow onion, minced
1 lb. noodles
1 cup cheese, grated
1⁄4 tsp. sugar
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Combine peas, butter, bacon, onion, and 3⁄4 cup water in a 12″ skillet over medium-high.
Cook until water has evaporated and peas are cooked, about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of generously salted water to a boil; add noodles, and cook for 10 minutes.
Drain, reserving 1 cup of water.
Add noodles, water, parmesan, sugar, salt, and pepper to skillet with peas and toss to coat.
Transfer to a serving platter and serve immediately.
